Ana-hatha Yoga

Yoga from the Heart
By Donation!

Anahata (Sanskrit: अनाहत, IAST: Anāhata, English: "unstruck") or heart chakra is the fourth primary chakra, according to Hindu Yogic, Shakta and Buddhist Tantric traditions. In Sanskrit, anahata means "unhurt, unstruck, and unbeaten".
Anahata Nad refers to the Vedic concept of unstruck sound (the sound of the celestial realm); A chord that keeps resonating without beginning or end. Anahata is associated with balance, calmness, and serenity.

Experience and Credentials:
Yoga Alliance RYT 200, 9 month Training Certified Teacher as of January 2017. I have been learning yoga on my own and attending classes as much as I've been able to since 2012; however I attended my first yoga class/experience at the age of 5. To see more on my yoga lineage and background, please visit this link:  BUDDHA YOGA

Added Experiences in body movement:
I've also practiced a variety of other forms of body movement, having a keen interest  and intermediate practice in Tai Chi since middle school; A handful of qi-gong and martial arts classes since my teen years, (a few Tae Kwan Do classes and Kenjutsu for about 2 years). outside of actual classes I have followed many instructional videos over the years on the above subjects plus some, including Pilates; I practiced gymnastics to some degree when I was a kid, and have picked up dancing in the last few years (primarily belly dance), attending several dance classes and self practice.

Mission:

To provide the Lincoln County NM area with more opportunities and locations to do yoga. I'm looking forward to sharing all the wisdom of (W)holistic health that yoga has to offer with family, friends, and community members; May yoga bring happiness, health, inspiration, and a sense of interconnected wholeness to us all! Out in the west, things are spread out pretty far; I know for me, it is hard finding motivation after a long day to drive 30 or more minuets from Capitan to Ruidoso just to attend a good class! I am currently teaching classes at Buddha Yoga in Ruidoso, and classes at the Capitan Fitness gym.

CLASSES:

-By Donation; Going rates for similar classes: $10-$15 per class

-I focus primarily on teaching deep stretch and restorative, gentle flow classes for all levels. This includes stretching, strengthening, and restorative poses. I am teaching both chair yoga, and mat yoga.

All Donations will be graciously accepted! If you are low income I am flexible; talk to me and I will work with you. Bring yourself, water, and any yoga props you wish, such as a mat, blocks, blanket, strap, etc; If you do not have any of these things, or forget them, no worries! Several mats, straps, props, and a few blocks will be provided.

I substitute for other teachers and have classes that come and go with the seasons. I also teach breathing workshops from time to time. I am always open to teach for special events, or do personal training sessions, please contact me if interested.

Looking forward to seeing and connecting with both familiar and new faces!
Namaste!
